Interworld Freight Inc informs all our clients and allies that as freight forwarders, we must have the exact description of the cargo that will be exported, therefore, the exporter or shipper should provide the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) mentioning the cargo composition and handling.

The MSDS contains 16 sections that provides detailed and comprehensive information on a controlled product related to:

1. Health effects of exposure to the product

2. Hazard evaluation related to the product’s handling, storage or use

3. Measure to protect workers at risk of exposure

4. Emergency procedures

5. Methods of Storage

6. Spill-handling procedures

7. Transport information.

The section 14th of the MSDS is intended for those responsible for shipping the material. If there are special precautions necessary during shipment. If the cargo is not Hazmat or dangerous, it will say N/A or Not Regulated. If it is, we will find the following information:

• UN number

• UN proper shipping name

• Transport hazard class(es)

• Packing group

• Environmental hazards

• Transport in bulk, if applicable

• Special precautions

It is important that our customers and allies know that the MSDS is not required just for dangerous cargo, but also for cargo that is potentially dangerous as liquids, creams and powders only for the purpose of certifying that they are non hazardous products for export.
